quilla /ˈkiʝa/ noun

the keel of a ship; the backbone that holds a vessel together and keeps it on course

Why we started Quilla

Because the person you brief should be the person who does the work.

We both ran the agency model from the inside, so we know what you're paying for. A lot of it isn't the work; it's the office, the perks, the layer of people between the senior you brief and the junior who does the job. Every agency site bears the same photo of a team smiling round a whiteboard, the same cheesy lines about partnership. But underneath it the model is slow, bloated, and outdated.

Because you can't advise on work you've stopped doing.

The people advising you have to be the people doing the work. That's who we are. Paid media and search change every few months, faster now than ever, and the moment you stop doing the work to manage people who do, you're a year behind and you don't even know it. You become the senior person on the call who can't answer the question, who says let us take that offline. We answer your questions right on the call, because we did the work yesterday.

Because two people can now do what took a department.

Two people can now deliver what used to take a whole department, because we've spent a year building the systems to do it. Grunt work typically handed to junior marketers can now be done in an instant, so the gap between a conversation with you and work going live has all but disappeared. But AI on its own just produces confident nonsense faster. Our partnership works because it sits on twenty-five years of earned expertise. That's the whole thing: the experience to make the calls, and the systems to execute them at speed.
